Stepping into the Olympic summer of 1912. At the National Sports Museum in Stockholm, the exhibition Sunshine Olympics takes visitors back to the summer of 1912, when Sweden hosted its first and only Summer Olympic Games. Big Image printed the vibrant yellow flooring using our proprietary Clear Stage material. Where the earth hangs above. For Olivier Messiaen’s Saint François d’Assise at the Salzburg Festival, Big Image premium printed the monumental cityscape that appears inverted above the performers, creating an almost impossible world overhead. At 34.8 metres wide and 17 metres high, covering a total of 592 m², the scenography brings together five individual prints to form one continuous image across the stage. Framing an entrance to the unseen. For Collected Works 2016–2026, Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, also known as Yung Lean, brings together previously unseen works spanning a decade of his artistic practice. At Stockholm’s Gasverket, the exhibition begins before you even step inside. Big Image premium printed the monumental façade image on Permeo Mesh, a new addition to our fabric range, precisely tailored to frame the entrance and transform the exterior into the first encounter with the exhibition. For Il pomo d’oro at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, our work extended across almost the entire stage production, including the large-scale cloth backdrop with individually produced cutouts. First performed in 1668, this Baroque opera moves between heavenly splendour and earthly life. The production brought the work to the stage in its entirety for the first time since its premiere. A landscape, gathered by hand. At Rian Designmuseum in Sweden, the collective Disorder presents a project that began with a group of children gathering from the landscape around them. Their discoveries became sculptures and collages, later reinterpreted by Disorder for the exhibition. The same visual language flows through the delicate hanging installation and the large-scale printed drapery. Big Image premium printed and produced the drapery, allowing elements from the children’s original work to unfold across the space at a new scale. Framing a Royal Wardrobe. For the exhibition The Queen’s Royal Wardrobe – Everyday and Special Occasions Over 50 Years at Drottningholm Palace Theatre, we custom built the aluminium structures displaying a curated selection of private dresses and outfits worn by Queen Silvia of Sweden. Covered with a fine protective net, almost invisible from certain angles, the structures keep the garments protected while allowing them to remain fully in view. The exhibition marked Queen Silvia’s 50 years as Queen of Sweden.
